Presentation at 2010 Commencement:

The person we honor today is an inspiration for those who know him and a great ambassador for the College in the community.

Charles is director of ML Weekes & Company, a public accounting and consulting firm serving the needs of colleges, universities, hospitals, non-profits and government contractors receiving grants and contracts with various federal, state and local governments. He earned an AA in Accounting and Business in 1995 and an AS in Computer Information Systems in 1996 from Cape Cod Community College, a BS in Accounting in 1999 and a MBA in Finance in 2001 from Fairfield University, and a BS in Information Technology from UMass, Lowell in 2009.

Charles has demonstrated a continuing interest in and support of the Cape Cod Community College over time through contributions of his time, talents and resources. Charles has been an active member of the CCCC Educational Foundation (2004-2007), serving as treasurer on the Executive Committee during the last two years of his term. He has also been a strong advocate for energizing the Alumni Association and fueled that advocacy with his volunteer leadership of the board since 2004, including serving two terms as chair 2005-2006 and again in 2008-2009. He currently develops and supports the CCCC Alumni web site, alumni email and the monthly alumni newsletter.

In the community, Charles serves as a volunteer firefighter in West Barnstable and is enrolled in the EMT program at CCCC as part of his commitment to be available as a first responder in the community.

With such enthusiasm for the College, and such excellence in leadership and life itself, we are proud to honor tonight our Alumnus of the Year 2010, Charles Marshall.
